Such systems have proven to be an effective tool in reducing emissions. Since 2005, the European ETS (EU ETS) has reduced emissions by almost 37% in the main sectors covered.

Vertis Global Carbon Fund is a a sub-fund of STX FUND ASSET MANAGEMENT SCA SICAV-RAIF, a Luxembourg investment company with variable capital – reserved alternative investment fund (société d’investissement à capital variable – fonds d’investissement alternatif réservé) established under the form of a corporate partnership limited by shares (société en commandite par actions). It qualifies as an alternative investment fund under the EU Alternative Investment Management Fund Manager Directive (“AIFMD”) and managed by Fuchs Asset Management S.A

Gauthier Bily

CEO

Gauthier Bily is CEO of Vertis Environmental Finance, one of the pioneer companies in the carbon markets with 25 years of history. He has an extensive experience in environmental markets starting in 2005 trading carbon on the primary and secondary market In CACIB and BNP Paribas. Throughout his career Gauthier has worked towards the decarbonisation of the European economy by developing the consultancy branch of Axis Alternatives and working with the United Nation and Caisse des Dépôts et Conssignation in the creation of different Carbon Funds. In 2013 he set up is own proprietary carbon trading company named Alco2 that was acquired by Vertis Environmental Finance In 2016.

Since then, Gauthier is dedicated to the management and business development of Vertis, leading its geographical expansion, and diversification in products and services.

Gauthier holds a master’s In Economics, Marketing and Finance by Sup de Co la Rochelle.

Hein Jurgens

Chief Commercial Officer

Hein Jurgens holds a BA (hons) degree in International Business by EBS.

He was responsible (as Partner) for the development of the distribution of Equities to Continental Europe for a period of 15 years. Afterwards, he pursued a career in Asset Management, where he managed a Multi-Strategy fund for 12 years gaining valuable fund management experience.

He joined STX Asset Management 2022, where he supported the setting up of Asset Management business, and now focus on marketing and distribution of the Fund.

Gergely Szabo

Principal Investment Advisor

Gergely is an energy and carbon trader and researcher, with over 18 years of experience. He started his career at Vertis Environmental Finance where he built and managed the trading desk and reaching important milestones like the execution of the world's first online European Emission Allowance (EUA) auction and the world's first settled Certified Emission Reduction (CER) spot transaction.

He later consolidated his trading experience at Bunge, MOL Group and MVM Group where he managed billion dollars derivative books in oil, power and natural gas markets. Gergely has also worked for the Central Bank of Hungary, where he held a position in economic research. At the Vertis Global Carbon Fund, Gergely's role is key in determining markets investment strategy.

Daniel Egry

Junior Investment Advisor

Daniel Egry graduated from Corvinus University, where he gained a deep understanding of business and finance. Daniel started his career at Vertis, working at the FQD desk and acquiring relevant knowledge and experience in global carbon markets. At the Vertis Global Carbon Fund he focuses on qualitative and quantitative research on global ETS markets, and identification of trading opportunities. He also supports risk management in monitoring portfolio valuation, trading limits, and VARs.

Pablo Campos

Legal Counsel

Pablo is Legal Counsel of Vertis Environmental Finance. He has extensive experience in the field of commodities trading and financial regulation. Throughout his career he has worked closely with energy trading teams in Repsol and Pavilion Energy, advising on derivatives and hedging transactions. He has been deeply involved in environmental commodities, both in the compliance and voluntary markets.

Pablo has a bachelor’s degree in law and a master’s degree in shipping and corporate law. He also holds specialization degrees in financial markets’ law and regulation.

Stefan Feuchtinger

Head of R&A

Stefan is Head of Research & Analysis at Vertis. His areas of expertise cover analysis and trading of EU & global carbon markets. Previously, he has worked at the trading desk of Vattenfall and covered the EU ETS for the analytics provider ICIS. Stefan holds a BA in law from Viena University, with a Masters from University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Riham Wahba

Senior Market Analyst

Riham started her R&A career at Schneider Electric, where she specialized in agile energy portfolios risk management for large industrial and commercial clients in the UK and Europe. With a deep understanding of the EU ETS, Riham contributes to the development of market analytics that help the decision-making process of market participants

Riham holds a degree on economics, anthropology, and sociology from the American University in Cairo, as well as a master’s degree in public administration from Central Eastern Europe University.

Gabriel Papeians

Market Analyst

His role entails fundamental and technical analysis of the EU ETS. His responsibilities include providing consolidated research on market activity, monitoring spot and futures contracts data, and acting as information provider for counterparties. Prior to joining Vertis, Gabriel worked on global carbon pricing mechanisms at TotalEnergies, in Paris. Through this project, he built a fundamental expertise on both compliance and voluntary markets, focusing on North America, the European Union, and Africa.
Gabriel holds a master’s degree in economics from the Economics School of Louvain-UCLouvain and a postgraduate master in economics and public policy from the College of Europe, in Bruges.

Evan Redding

BD American ETS

Evan Redding is a Senior Sales Trader of Compliance Carbon products in North America. He has spent the last 4 years working in N.A. Carbon markets structuring over the counter bilateral and exchange traded transactions. Evan’s program scope is inclusive of the California Cap & Trade, Low Carbon Fuel Standard, Washington Cap & Invest, Oregon Clean Fuels, and Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative programs. Prior to joining STX, Evan was previously a Broker and an Analyst with a global interdealer broker covering North American Environmental markets.

Emmanuel Jaquez

BD Mexican ETS

Emmanuel has more than 9 years of experience in international commodities trading. Since 2021 he is dedicated to the ETS market development in Mexico, supporting the preparation of obligated entities and public institutions. Emmanuel holds a degree in Financial Management from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and a Master in Business Administration from the EGADE Business School.
